I’m a Reader (Associate Professor) in the Department of International Politics at City St Georges, University of London.
My research interests are international organizations (in particular, decision-making, resourcing, and inequalities in international bureaucracies), international security (including the Russian invasion of Ukraine), and peace operations.
I am multi-award winning scholar. My recent work has been published by leading university presses and in International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, International Studies Review, and Contemporary Security Policy.
I sit on the Editorial Boards of International Peacekeeping and Global Governance.
In 2025-2026, I am seconded to the International Crisis Group thanks to the British Academy ODA Global Innovation Fellowship.
In the autumn term of 2026-2027, I will be based at Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence at the University of Bayreuth.
In 2027, I will pursue Leverhulme-funded research project ‘Legitimising Foreign-Backed Rule: Local Intermediaries in Ukraine and DR Congo’.
